Angel ChevresttShe http://www.bitittan.com carried a death sentence in her genes, the doctors said, a mutation ready to riddle the Manhattan mom with cancer and eventually kill her.

Nancy Held already was battling breast http://www.pupms.com cancer and recovering from a double mastectomy when a California lab, Ambry Genetics, revealed the even crueler fate: Li-Fraumeni Syndrome. Removal of her ovaries and uterus was recommended but would only delay the inevitable. Her two young daughters had a 50 percent chance of inheriting the mortal abnormality.

For months, Held http://www.suitunderwear.com lived with heart-pounding anxiety about her family’s future.

“It was kind of the nightmare that never went away,” she said.

Until she learned her personal hell was prompted by a simple human error at Ambry, which eventually admitted it had inadvertently switched her blood sample with someone else’s, according to a lawsuit.

For seven months I thought I was going to die, and I thought my children were not so far behind me.

-Nancy Held“For seven months I thought I was going to die, and I thought my children were not so far behind me,” Held, 45, told The Post.

Only 42 when diagnosed in 2012 with early-stage breast cancer, Held tested negative for BRCA, the gene mutation that drove actress Angelina Jolie to have a preventative double mastectomy.

Genetic testing is the double-edged sword of modern cancer: Women can learn their risk before the disease hits but frequently must decide whether to remove their female organs to prevent a disease that might not ever occur.

Held sought further testing after her mom, also a breast-cancer survivor, developed a recurrence.

She was a week away from her last breast-cancer treatment when Ambry’s initial lab report came in saying she carried a mutated P53 gene. “If you have it, it means you have a more than 90 percent chance of getting cancer and you’re going to keep getting cancer until it kills you,” Held said.

Doctors wanted to barrage her 7- and 9-year-old daughters with tests. Held refused, monitoring them closely with a pediatrician instead, panicking over each bump or bruise they got.

But her parents and brother did undergo testing — and the results were negative. Something was not right, Held thought. Doctors dismissed her concerns.  “There are no false positives, only false negatives,” they told her.

“It was very hard, trying to get your doctors to not believe in science, but believe in common sense,” Held said.nkhytayr367485

Finally she was retested and learned the truth in May 2014. “I’m sure I’m not the first mistake. I’m sure I’m not the last mistake,” Held said.

Her Manhattan federal court suit against Ambry is set for trial in the coming months, and Held wants other women to know her story.

Ambry declined to comment.

In the controversial editorial, the newspaper said Palin http://www.wholesale-swimwear.com/ incited the mass shooting through an ad her PAC put out that placed “Giffords and 19 other Democrats under stylized cross hairs” on a map, according to the former Alaska governors lawsuit.

“What I wasn’t trying to say was that there was a direct causal link between this map and the shooting,” Bennet told Judge Jed Rakoff during a hearing over whether to dismiss Palin’s suit.

In order for her suit to go forward, the former GOP vice presidential nominee must prove that the Times acted with actual malice.

Bennet said he had edited the piece, which was written by Times editorial board member Elizabeth Williamson, close to deadline and wound up doing an overhaul of it.More On:sarah palinJudge tosses Palins defamation suit against NY TimesTimes lawyers argue no actual malice in Palin defamation suitPalin lawyers blocked from grilling reporters in defamation suitPalin to subpoena two dozen reporters in defamation suit

“It was late in the day and our deadline was looming. I just began plunging in and effectively rewriting the piece,” he said.

He couldn’t remember if he had read any stories from earlier in the day debunking the link between Palin’s ad and the deadly Tuscon shooting.

Times researchers had emailed Williamson editorial pieces the newspaper had run just after the Giffords shooting. Bennet was also copied on those emails – but admitted he didn’t review the previous editorials and also didn’t look at the map that was featured in the Palin ad.

When asked if he thought shooter Jared Lee Loughner acted because of the ad, Bennet responded, “I did not know one way or the other. I did not think Jared Loughner was acting because of this.”nkhytayr367485

Rakoff is expected to rule at a later date.

It’s not yet clear whether Williamson or other Times employees will take the stand.
